Back in 2006 Eric Raymond and I wrote a paper on the 64-bit transition, which is the point where the computer world switches from a 32-bit to a 64-bit OS, the way it switched from DOS to Windows back in 1990.
It's been a year since then, and it's time to follow up. How is the transition going?
