Summary |
0000672: getaddrinfo does PTR lookup when asked for canonical name |
|
Description |
Both glibc and uClibc getaddrinfo use PTR lookups to find the
canonical name for the host. This contradicts POSIX, which says that
the canonical name is intended to have the meaning from RFC1035, i.e.
the name that a CNAME RR points to, and not the ordinary English
meaning of "canonical" as the authoritative name.
