Summary | 0000639: new feature "target patch" for buildroot - user specify skeleton tarfile, directory and device table
Description |
This patch will allow the user to specify their own configuration for the skeleton tar file, the skeleton directory and a device table text file. We use this because we store our skeleton files and device table in an outside project directory under subversion source control. This way, we can specify a single default config file and reference the skeleton file, skeleton directory structure and device table in an external directory structure. I applied the patch with: cd buildroot/ patch -p1 < ../br-patch-target.patch |

Additional Information | spoke to some of the other developers and we came to the conclusion not to accept this as is. if this was part of a larger work that allowed for building of some external components, maybe, but as just a tweak to the system, no. thanks for the submission, hope you will continue to submit items to help make buildroot better.

Sounds like a good idea. prpplague, please ditch the _IS_SPECIFIED stuff and add the defaults into the help text. |
