Strangely, ncurses won't build shared libraries unless explicitly told to do so on the configure command line. (Yes, it's a library package. No, I don't know what they were smoking either.)

Fix overlay support: copy to original STAGE_DIR (not into usr/) and use tar | tar instead of cp -a (which barfs copying dir/file to a destination where dir symlink).

The header and news disagreed whether the file was "1.0" or "1.0.0", and since a 1.0.1 is inevitable, rename it 1.0.0.
